Drishti, Hazaribagh Driving Social Transformation

Drishti is a non-governmental organization registered under the Societies Registration Act (21), 1860 by the Government of Jharkhand. The organization is consistently dedicated to addressing pressing social issues. In the financial year 2024–25, the organization has undertaken the following programs:


1) Nai Disha District De-Addiction Centre

Drishti launched the Nai Disha District De-Addiction Centre on April 1, 2024, with support from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This 15-bed rehab center has helped 181 addicts overcome substance abuse.

The center conducted 48 awareness programs in urban and rural areas, engaging approximately 1,558 residents. The goal was to educate people about the dangers of addiction.

  • June 26, 2024: 102 attendees at International Day Against Drug Abuse awareness program near Naya Bus Stand
  • August 10–15, 2024 (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan):
    • Aug 10 – Pledge ceremony
    • Aug 11 – Workshop at Ambedkar Nagar
    • Aug 12 – 800m run at Curzon Ground
    • Aug 13 – Tree plantation at RC Mission School
    • Aug 15 – Independence Day celebration
  • October 2, 2024: "Swachhata Hi Seva" cleanliness drive at K.B. Sahay Park
  • January 24, 2025: Workshop on CPLI at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir with 70 participants focusing on goal setting, moral values, and substance abuse awareness

2) Vocational Training Program

To combat rising unemployment, Drishti’s training center provided vocational education to 33 individuals:

  • 6 in screen printing
  • 6 in candle making
  • 6 in incense stick making
  • 15 women in beautician training

Many of the trainees have started their own businesses, becoming financially independent and employing others.


3) Women and Child Welfare Program

With help from Dr. Ram Lakhan Rajak, a free health camp was organized on April 7, 2024 in Masipidhi, benefiting 128 individuals.

The camp included:

  • Health screenings
  • Free medicine distribution
  • Family planning awareness
  • Nutrition counseling to address child malnutrition

Emphasis was placed on the importance of a balanced diet and materials on population control were distributed.


4) Seminars / Workshops

June 5, 2024: On World Environment Day, a seminar at RC Mission School raised awareness among students about pollution causes, effects, and solutions.

December 3, 2024: On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a seminar in Morangi with 124 participants emphasized inclusion and celebrated the abilities and contributions of persons with disabilities.
